Gloria Smith
Founder

After a 25-year California career in designing and building custom homes, Gloria moved to Idaho and founded WomanTours in 1993. Recently retired, she spends her summers in the Tetons and her winters in the Arizona desert -- when she’s not bicycling on one of our tours.

Jackie Marchand
President

After a decade spent making and selling bicycles, Jackie brought her experience and love for road biking to WomanTours in 2004. Born and raised in upstate New York, she loves traveling and meeting women who love cycling as much as she does. And most of the time, she loves being in charge at WomanTours.

Sandra Packard
Director of Operations

Sandra became the WomanTours office manager in 1999, bringing with her 20 years of management experience. She expertly manages all of our tour logistics. More than anything else, she loves mountain biking the trails of Idaho with her dog Ruby.

Jennifer Thompson
Office Manager

When Jen led our Finger Lakes tour in 2004, she realized that running a tour is not unlike raising her 2 daughters. “It’s all about making sure everyone is fed, getting them to where they’re supposed to go, and making sure they're safe and happy.” We were thrilled when she agreed to join us in the office a couple months later.

Michelle Green
Office Assistant

As the newest member of our staff, Michelle joined us in 2007. She’s also new to bicycling, but her sisters, Jackie and Jennifer, are quickly converting her. When she’s not at the gym spinning, she’s paying all our bills and producing the new tour maps and elevation profiles.

Linda Gryczan
Tour Leader

Linda has been a professional bicycle mechanic for more than 20 years. She’ll make sure you're comfortable on your bike and help fix anything that breaks. She lives in Montana and lobbies her state legislature when she’s not guiding for us. She’s the best cheerleader you’ll ever have.

Patty Jackson
Tour Leader/Chef

Patty lived in Idaho for more than a decade where she led many of our Teton tours. She recently moved to Moab, Utah and designed our tour there for us. She’s a favorite among our cross-country riders, thanks to the wonderful feasts she creates from our travel kitchen.

Kimberly Masters
Tour Leader

Kimberly has led bicycle tours throughout the country for the past 17 years. She makes her home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where she runs her own handmade soap company. Alaska remains her true love, however, and if she’s not biking the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can find her cycling the Alaska-Canada Highway.

None
Michelle Slusher
Tour Leader/Chef

Michelle has had a love affair with bicycles since receiving her first one at the age of four. She’s biked across the country eight times and counting. Born and raised in Colorado, she works as a massage therapist when not on tour with us. She’s a wonderful guide, cook and bicycle mechanic, but an even better singer, songwriter and guitar player.

Laurie Collins
Tour Leader

We're lucky to have Laurie leading tours with us. Having spent most of her career guiding tours with Vermont Bicycle Tours, she brings a wonderful sense of fun and professionalism to the job.  An avid cyclist, excellent mechanic, and expert kayaker, Laurie is also a certified ski instructor.  When she's not on tour, she makes her home in the mountains of Virginia.

None
Vicky Vendrell
Tour Leader

Vicky has biked across the country with us 3 times – about to be 4. Hailing from Maine, she created our Maine tour for us and expertly leads it every year. Since she won't ride with an odometer, her cue sheets are the most detailed you’ll find anywhere. You’ll also find her knowledge, enthusiasm and love for the area to be contagious.

None
Ellee Thalheimer
Tour Leader

When she's not guiding our cross country tours, Ellee is busy with yoga, massage, and scouting new routes for us. She's also a terrific writer. You can read her wonderfully funny but savvy works on bicycling in Oregon Cycling Magazine and Lonely Planet guide books. Dedicated and always exuberant -- even a broken wrist doesn't slow her down.

None
Linda Baldwin
Tour Leader/Chef

Linda grew up cooking for parties on an island without electricity. Cooking with propane out of our mobile trailer kitchens feels like luxury to her now. When she's not biking across the country with us, she's working at her life coaching business.

None
Nancy Mulholland
Tour Leader

In addition to guiding for WomanTours, Nancy regularly bikes across the country and teaches effective cycling in her hometown of Santa Barbara. She doesn’t even own a car, so there’s no one better to have developed our new Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley tour. You’ll love her calm demeanor and great smile.

Lynne Brach
Tour Leader/Chef

Lynne makes her home in northern Michigan. She used to work both on the road and in the office for the former Michigan Bicycle Touring company. Now she keeps busy caring for her two children, working as a professional chef at children’s camps and adult retreats, and guiding tours for us. Her maternal warmth and confident manner makes everyone feel safe on a bike.
